In the Leeds Violin Shop room at Hobgoblin Music in Leeds you will find an excellent range of new and second hand violins to suit everyone from complete beginner to expert. We have a strong trade in secondhand instruments, so if you'd like to trade up from your current instrument, or just have us sell it on your behalf, bring it along to the shop and we'll work something out for you.

We can also offer an expert on-site repair service by Stephen Silcock, on all orchestral stringed instruments and bows.

Stephen Silcock, ALCM LLCM NSVM, our violin expert and restorer is available in the Leeds shop two days a week (please contact us to find out when he will be available). No obligation quotes for restoration, sound adjustments, valuations, bow re-hairs and repairs and friendly advice.

Stephen is not only a violin maker and restorer but he has over thirty years of teaching and playing experience.

By hunting out the best instruments from the various specialist auctions around the country, we have built up a large stock of high quality violins, bows and other orchestral stringed instruments selling at prices very competetive with other specialist dealerships. While most of our stock is of the antique/secondhand type, we are developing a range of contemporary hand-made instruments by local makers, offering a good value alternative for the serious or intermediate player.

It is very important to us that if you do go away with an instrument, it is the right one for you, and that you are entirely happy and at ease with your purchase. Customers are invited to spend as long as they would like to trying out and comparing the instruments - stick around and you might even get a cup of tea!

All secondhand instruments are fully guaranteed for 6 months, and we will be happy to discuss your needs for alterations when you make your purchase, as well as afterwards. New instruments are guaranteed for a full year.
